Sam Greenfield's Solo on "FXMLDR"

Hey everybody, we’re back again with a transcription, this time from Sam Greenfield. Sam is a monster saxophonist and EWI-ist (is that a word?) from Philadelphia, PA. Sam performs with a number of groups including Thank You Scientist and Cory Wong of Vulfpeck. This solo transcription is from the former, Thank You Scientist, off of their 2019 album, Terraformer. This solo is in the tenor key of C#-7, in which Sam employs a bit of altissimo, C# minor pentatonics, melodic cells, and implies the minor 2-5 of C#-. It’s a blazing solo that I can barely get under my fingers at 80% speed (if you saw my recent Instagram post). Hope you enjoy!
